Mapthena is operated by A Memory Forever, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

  • Facility owners: name, email address, phone number, and facility details provided during the claim and onboarding process.
  • Families and visitors: search queries (ZIP code, radius) used to find facilities. We do not require account creation for search.
  • Usage data: pages visited, browser type, and device information collected automatically via standard web analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate and maintain the Mapthena directory.
  • To send facility owners weekly SMS and email reminders to update their listing availability and pricing.
  • To process subscription payments via Stripe for facility owners.
  • To communicate service-related updates and support.
  • We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.

3. SMS Messaging

  • Facility owners who provide a phone number during onboarding consent to receive weekly SMS operational reminders.
  • You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.

4. Payment Information

  • Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Mapthena does not store your credit card number or payment details.
  • Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.

5. Data Sharing

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information.
  • We share data only with service providers necessary to operate Mapthena: database hosting, payments processing, email delivery, and SMS messaging providers. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • We may disclose information if required by law.

6. Data Retention

  • We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
  • Facility owners may request deletion of their account and associated data by contacting support@mapthena.com.

7. Security

  • We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure database practices.
  • No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

  • Mapthena is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

  • We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised date.
